Guess what the fuck happened this weekend?! We made our first sale!! Wob and I were out to dinner (been on a big Bertucci’s kick recently) and I was checking something on my phone when the notification came through! It was the most exciting moment of this journey so far. Almost brought a tear to my eye actually! The customer bought the pink Serenity Now mug with pink writing. You know who you are out there—thank you from the bottom of my heart! I hope your recipient absolutely loves it.
With that thrilling milestone accomplished, Wob and I were even more enthusiastic about keeping FOH moving forward and making improvements and enhancements to the page. Wob had a couple major breakthroughs regarding coding different aesthetics and functionality on the site. When he’s “in the zone” working on a coding problem, he is 100% focused and hours and hours can go by before he looks up. He often doesn’t even notice when I bring him snacks which indicates to me his level and intensity lol. When I glance over to see what he’s doing, it looks like he’s legitimatley copying and pasting and tapping keys in a foreign language. Then all of a sudden he’ll be like “YES!” (or likely something more profanity laced) and viola! He’s checked another website task off our to-do list. He fucking rocks.
Yesterday he solved a major problem with our Instagram/Facebook/Meta or whatever it’s called synchronization. For some reason the good folks at Meta decided they didn’t like my new individual account and blocked and restricted and red X-ed me all over the place. So I couldn’t do anything with Fields of Happy in terms of marketing and all that. Wob tried all the extensive tricks up his sleeve and nothing worked until yesterday afternoon, right before I had to leave to pick up the kids, he figured out a go-around and we’re back in FB business! It was a huge relief because now we’re able to do all sorts of things like have people share images and links to exact products from our site, and buy directly without leaving IG or FB. (Or eventually we’ll be able to do that. And by eventually I hope ASAP.)
We also organized and combined all of our notes and documents for the business and checked in on a number of tasks and priorities to make sure we’re on the same page. We are. Also created an expense report so we can know the exact moment when we break even and move thing thang into the green! (Expense report makes it sound so official. It’s literally an apple note.)
And finally, in other wins, I bought Uncrustables today for the first time and fed them to my kids (and mother-in-law) for dinner lol. Things are on the ups!
This little gal is the winner!

May this be the first sale of so many that you lose count! On second thought, don’t lose count, that’s not good business practice… but hope you sell A LOT! Cheers to your business!
Congratulations!!! You’re officially in business! Cheers to you and to having success beyond your wildest dreams!
