This last week or so we’ve been making some big changes to our site, with more to come. I designed about 50 new mugs (!!) that are less design focused and not so busy. More simple, funny wording, less other stuff. It seems like that is what people like more now. So I shall give the people what they want lol. We also moved some of the original mugs to different areas of the site in order to highlight the newer stuff that we think people will like better, and made our Valentine’s collection prominent. We’ve seen steady traffic to the site which is awesome and now we want to help people who come check us out without getting overwhelmed, bored, or confused. And then lead them down an easy path to making a purchase. Or 3.
We listened to a webinar yesterday and got some good info about targeting our specific customer so that we can better meet their need. Their need for a funny mug, or a hilarious unique gift. :)
This weekend we are going to go through all the products we have (currently over 250 eek) and take ones down from the site that aren’t as great as others and make it less hectic and overwhelming to browse through. Also going to simplify some mugs we like but that are over-designed. Then we need to update the listings with more photos and update the pictures on our homepage. And about a million other things.
I’ve been having fun with our Instagram account which is all very new to me and feels weird since I’ve stayed away from social media forever, but I’ve been trying to post consistently and build a community of moms who share my humor, lifestyle, and struggles. Time to get out of my comfort zone!
Now I just need to do all of this while also taking care of my kids (they’re so demanding, they require food aaaalll the time, clean clothes, attention, it’s endless lol), moving my divorce forward, not going broke, oh and every now and then taking a breath.
