Futzing and Wings - Blog 6

This week Wob continued to work on making the site look good, and we did a major revamp to how the products are laid out on the homepage. More individual mugs to showcase a variety of our favorite designs right off the bat. Seems like it would be easy to make that change on the back end, but alas, it was not lol. Coming to realize that a lot of this stuff that I thought would be relatively seamless is anything but. There is definitely a learning curve here. Tonight I spent a long time futzing with our Etsy page and learning about how that works, only to realize there’s some sort of major glitch connecting our printing partner to the Etsy page and to continue to use that link will require a lot of manual work for each product we currently have plus each time I make a new one, I’ll have to manually add it. Which is sucky. So we are looking into other alternatives for how to do that. There is just so much to know and do to try to drive traffic to the site and to get the niche of people who will enjoy our products to actually have the chance to see them! In the meantime, we have not sold a single mug hahahahaha. Christ on a bike. 

It turns out, the Instagram posts I’ve made so far are basically shit. Which Wob gently and ever so nicely informed me of, and alas, I have to agree with him. I know what I WANT them to look like, they just don’t quite yet. I’ll get better!

On the bright side, Wob and I finally ate some boneless wings from It’s Just Wings which we’d tried to do multiple times and those motherfuckers were always closed. But not tonight! They even had cheesecake. So there’s that.
