Fields of Happy's Birthday! - Blog 1

This is my first blog post. Of any kind. Ever. Lucky you! Lol

I’m in the early stages of developing Fields of Happy. My business partner, Wob, (name changed to protect his identity) and I have been talking for months about what kind of job I wanted to do that would hopefully help pay some bills (going through a divorce and have three kids—the bills are no joke) but also be fulfilling and fun. It would really be best if I could do all that wearing my pajamas and laying in my bed!

After shitting on many of his ideas because I was too scared and a wussy to take a big leap, I started thinking about making some fun products to support my sister, who just came out of the closet. (Yay Laura! You go girl!) After talking with her for a while and thinking about what would make the most sense, I decided to focus on topics I know more about—the daily struggles of being a Mom, and the bullshit and occasional (lol) joys that come along with that. I’m also a sucker for a good inspirational quote so I’m adding those in now and then too.

Fields of Happy was born from this idea. My maiden name is Greenfield hence the “fields” and this past year I’ve made some difficult decisions in the pursuit of my own true happiness, hence the “happy”. I like the carefree, endless vibe that “Fields of Happy” conveys, so I went with it. The products I’m designing now are meant to be funny, interesting, thought provoking, inspirational, surprising, raw, and/or say things that I (and possibly we all) think or feel sometimes. For now, I’m starting with mugs, but I plan to expand into other products once I see what takes off here. If anything.

I’ve never been on any social media before (old school old timer not interested in random people from my past attempting to flaunt their best selves don’t like the inter webs being all up in my business hate fakeness hate the trying to out-cute each other would rather waste my free time playing word games can send pics/videos to my small circle of family and friends without any of the bs thank you very much), but now I have aaalllll the social media accounts in an attempt to draw eyes to my business. Gonna be a bit of a learning curve with that one but luckily I have Wob to guide me. And also to make the website. And code stuff. And do everything hard. ‘Preciate you, Wob!

Gotta go work on some designs, fold the laundry, and eat some cereal. Hope you guys get a laugh, feel even better about your badassness, and then go buy all the mugs!

Thank you!!

Hannah :)
